ADMISSION NOTICE
Last Date: 25th July, 2011
Applications in the prescribed form are invited for admission to the courses of study in the North Eastern Hill University for the academic session commencing from August, 2011. The courses offered are as indicated below against each of the Departments/Centre.

WHO CAN APPLY
For M.Phil/Ph.D. Programme: Candidates with at least 55% marks or with minimum of ‘B’ grade (CGPA) in the 7-point UGC Scale at the Master’s Degree level or equivalent will be eligible for admission to M.Phil/Ph.D. Programme in the same or cognate subject. However, in cases of candidates belonging to ST/SC categories, the minimum percentage/CGPA may be relaxed to the extent provided by Government of India policy on such matters. Further, subject to availability of vacancies, candidates from disciplines/subjects other than those dealt by the concerned Departments/Centres may be admitted, provided they belong to cognate subjects and/or expertise in such subjects are available in the department/centre.
For Diploma/Certificate Course : P.G. Diploma in Statistics: Any one who has passed the B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. examination of this University or any other University with Mathematics as a subject at + 2 level.
P.G. Diploma in Geo-informatics(Geography Department): Applicants with Bachelors Degree (Hons) in Geography, Geology and Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics/ Statistics, Environmental Sciences, BE/B.Tech Electronics/IT/Computer Sciences/Telecom) B.Arch/B.Plan and BCA/MCA with a minimum of 60% of marks in the subject concerned or equivalent CGPA shall be eligible for admission.
HOW TO APPLY
Prescribed application forms with prospectus can be obtained in person from the Receptionist, Administrative Building, Permanent Campus, Shillong – 793022 or from the office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, NEHU, Tura Campus, Tura – 794002 during office hours on payment of Rs.200/- (for General category and reduction by 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category) through University Challan/Banker’s Cheque/Bank Draft drawn in favour of “North Eastern Hill University”. Request for application forms and prospectus by post should be addressed to the Section Officer (Academic), NEHU, Permanent Campus, Shillong 793022 accompanied by a self addressed envelop of 30 x 25cm affixing Rs.40/- stamp thereon and enclosing Demand Draft for Rs.200/- (for General category and reduction by 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category). The application form/prospectus fee is not reimbursable. The admission form may also downloaded from NEHU Website www.nehu.ac.in and filled in application form alongwith the Demand Draft of the same amount can be sent to the Head of respective departments.
LAST DATE FOR APPLICATION
Application forms duly filled-in are to be submitted to the Head of the respective Department/Centre on or before 25th July, 2011. NEHU students appearing the 4th semester examination in July 2011 and awaiting results may apply within the last date for the M.Phil / Ph.D. Programme. Application received after the specified date will not be entertained. For other details the candidates may consult the prospectus of the University or Website www.nehu.ac.in
