Halloween party ideas 2015

Hmar is a language spoken by the Hmar tribe of India. It has sprung from a common Chin-Kuki-Mizo group of languages. It is written in Roman script. Hmar has three chief dialects - classic, clan and modern. Ancient Hmar (trawng upa) shows an extraordinary amount of polish and refinement. It is much more difficult to understand. It is mainly used by poets and song composers for its literary value.

Medieval Hmar (Clan dialect) refers to those spoken by different clans within the Hmar tribe. Example are the Biete dialect, Hrangkhawl dialect and Thiek dialect.

Here, INPUI presents Modern Hmar dialect, a user-friendly guide to help you converse in Hmar. You may need to twist your tongue a bit... Have fun! :)

  5. This looks really interesting. Thanks a lot. But....... since I come from Germany, I don't know how to pronounce the written letters. I read the letters, but how are the transscriptesd words spelled? Do you refer to the common kind of English language how the written words of your language should sound like?

  6. Yes, it is around 90% same with english pronunciation.

  7. Very helpful, I wish there were more lessons. I tried for weeks to figure out what language she was speaking and finally had to break down and ask.
Then I was still unable to find anything on how to translate until I stumbled onto this site.
    Thanks

  8. A very good post. However, hope we could do with better spelling and proof reading next time, because there are several mistakes, such as biengin (biekin), thlan (tlan), zawnna (zawna).

Iengkhawm ni sien ei thaw tha tho tho. Lawm a um.
