IMPHAL, Oct 3, 2009: The Hmar Student`s Association today celebrated its 70th Foundation Day at the Hmar Community Hall, Lamphel.
Rajesh Dhakarwal Commandant, 109 Bn CRPF who graced the function as chief guest said that these days student`s of our state don`t remain as student`s instead they are a sort of people who are utilized by politicians, students organization and civil societies.
Dhakarwal further said that students are the future of the nation and they shouldn`t be exploited. He also said that building of the Tipaimukh Dam will benefit the Hmar Community since there is heavy functioning or dominance of the Hmar community in Tipaimukh area.
The celebration were also attended by Dr Chalton Lien Amo, President Hmar National Union (GHQ), Shri KA Ningam 2nd in command, 86 Bn CRPF as guest of honours.
During the celebration cultural items were present by the Mualvaiphei cultural troupe, Churachandpur followed by special numbers by New Lambulane kids, Lalsanglien, Ms Catherine Lalremlien, Langol Juniors and greetings were given by Joseph R Hmar- Chairman, Sikpui Rusi 2009 and Pu Lalremsang Intaste President, HYA Imphal GHQ.
Pastor Ramenglien, area Pastor, RPC, Pastor Darziding Area Pastor, EAC and all the Hmar community participated at the foundation day celebration.
