NEW DELHI, DHNS: The meeting of the All India Congress Committee central election committee to select the party candidates from Karnataka for the Lok Sabha polls remained inconclusive on Saturday. It will again meet on Monday when the first list of candidates is likely to be announced.
The committee headed by party boss Sonia Gandhi first took up the Karnataka list for discussion, but soon turned to the list from West Bengal.
Though it could not be independently confirmed, the Congress sources said the committee had cleared the names of former chief minister S M Krishna for Bangalore South, Mallikarjun Kharge for Gulbarga, H T Sangliana for Bangalore Central, Union Minister K H Muniyappa for Kolar, S S Mallikarjun for Davanagere and Thippeswamy for Chitradurga.
The AICC screening committee for the state had met on Thursday and finalised its recommendation for all the 28 seats.Source: Deccan Herald
