Imphal, April 3, 2017 (DIPR): Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh today said that his approach will be humanity approach to regain the lost trust among people of different communities living in the State and his slogan to bridge the gap between hill and valley is “Go to Hill”.

This was stated by Shri N. Biren Singh to the members of the Manipur Hill Journalists’ Union (MHJU) when the latter called on him at his Office Chamber today.

“Whatever the diversities among different ethnic communities in the State we are one and the media has to play a great role in bringing together all the communities”, he continued.

Assuring that transparency will be there in his Government, the Chief Minister also appealed the members of the MHJU to give their suggestions so as to "regain the trust among ourselves". He also said that as a measure to ensure delivery of benefits to the beneficiaries under various schemes of TD & Hills Department, he is planning to distribute them personally at the respective Hill District HQs with the concerned minister.

Regarding the demands mentioned in the memorandum submitted to him by the MHJU, the Chief Minister instructed the Chief Engineer of PWD to take up the renovation work of the existing Press Club at Churachandpur and for allotment of land and establishment of a Press Club of the Union at Imphal, he gave his nod but told the members of the Union to first identify the land.

Regarding establishment of a Press Club at the district headquarters of all the Hill districts, the Chief Minister suggested them to request the respective district administration to provide a room to the Union in the Mini Secretariats of all the districts.

The six member delegation of the MHJU was led by its President Sothing Shimra, General Secretary S. Nengkhanlun and Finance Secretary Timothy Z. Zote. The meeting was also attended by Director of  IPR Shri Meghachandra Kongbam.
