church_money_give Don’t be surprised, there are a range of opinions on how Christians should spent their hard earned money. Some think, as true believers in Christ, we should give as we feel right, others think it’s a strict pretax 10%, while others think that 10% is just a starting point.

What do you think? How much money should you give to the Church?

  1. Well well well... to me give it to the needy is giving to Christ. no question of making the institution of deceit richer.

  2. "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD,
and he will reward them for what they have done." Proverbs 19:17.
It depends on you, it's not a debt or tax.

  3. I thought a tithe meant "a tenth" - people aren't really tithing if they're giving less than that, are they? In a financial year, there are 12 months and soimetimes i used to think that we should be giving just the first part of the income, i.e. from January's income and not for every months.

I found this answer from an authority on tithe:

"I encourage you not to plant the seed in yourself or anyone else that a 1%, 2%, 5% or 8% tithe isn't a tithe. While the root of the world "tithe" is "tenth", the word actually means the the first part, or a portion and is about the consciousness behind the giving, not the amount or percentage that is given."

    Clarify pleaseeeeee....

  4. The way i look at things going on it need not be tithe as long as one is giving one's body, heart and soul to the Lord. LP
