The unconditional virtues of the chillies. There are lots of reasons for bad circulation and certain spices are good remedy for such. Chillies are good for circulations, for body  heat (for winter time), over weight, and they are often good to moderate food that are too salty.

Chillies are very strong  stimulant for blood circulation, sudorific and gastric. It is also an antiseptic, antibacteria and a tonifier of the nervous system. Physioteraphists used chillies to cure angina, for skin infections (cutaneuos), cold, rhumatism and depressions.

Preparation: Mix 30 to 50 grms in 50 cl of hot water and drink it. Although this might not be necessary to Hmars as they  are famous for their chilling eating habits.

Eating too much chillies are not favorable to pregnant women. The best food at this stage for women is to eat moderately spicy food and abstain from any strong medications, alcohol and smoking (including eating khaini, raja and zarda pan).

sneezing By Tim Frisch, Guest Writer for Inpui.com

Odds are you know someone with this condition, they see a bright light and go into a sneezing fit, maybe even you have it. This condition; though untreatable currently, is benign. Some conditions may vary depending on how strong your genetic disorder may have developed.

Of those who have the disease, nearly 70% of them are female. Meaning finding a male photic sneezer is rare. Also; you cannot pass the gene on to a child if one of the parents does not already have it.

Although scientists are unsure of how this genetic defect, or quite possibly the evolutionary process, of this disease came about – what we do know is how it is caused.

Inside of the human brain there are nerves that are constantly receiving signals from our senses, you know – touch, smell, sight, hearing, and taste. These senses are sometimes paired together, especially according to proximity of their receptors. Two of these sensual nerves; which all converge to the cortex of the brain, are the ocular (Eyesight nerves) and Nasal (Smelling nerves). In 30% of the human population, the eyesight and nasal nerves are all tangled up; try visualizing a bundle of computer wires all mixed up, odds are you all know what that looks like.

Since these cords are all tangled and mangled up, there occasionally occurs a mix up of the signals. Meaning when you sense a bright light, the signal may be misinterpreted by your brain as a message from your nose that something is bothering it.

Therefore; when you sneeze from the Photic Sneeze Reflex, it is because of a mixed signal.

The damage or harm from this can be varied from person to person, but it generally is nothing more than a minor nuisance. One thing you must take into account though; is operation of vehicles. There are many concerns for people who operate heavy and often delicate machinery or are pilots with this disease.

One particular worst-case scenario which has been thought of is a military pilot emerging through the clouds on an intense dog fight; only to be greeted by a bright sky or the sun. This would spell disaster if the pilot had Photic Sneeze Reflex and possibly cause his or her life.

To test whether or not you have the genetic disorder, just go outside during a bright day; look up into the clear blue sky (not directly into the sun – that’d just be stupid…) and try not to blink for a few seconds. If you have it, you will have a strong sense to sneeze or you will actually sneeze. On the other hand, if you don’t even flinch or it doesn’t bother you at all; you don’t have the condition.

However, 70% of you reading this will never get the joy of sneezing on command. For minority of you who do actually know what the heck I am talking about in this article; be careful. Enjoy your gift, as I like to call it, but remember that even if you won’t be harmed by it – it can still spread disease. Although it is quite honestly a lot of fun to show your friends how awesome it is to sneeze whenever you please, just cover your mouth or look away.

Mosquitoes are incredibly annoying. They can ruin your time outside very easily. If you’ve ever been camping in an area prone to mosquitoes, you know how painful their bites can be. It’s not fun.

So what do you do when you’re being attacked by mosquitoes? Lighten the mood by sharing these interesting facts with your camping buddies. And then get yourself a mosquito catcher.

How Many Again?
There are 3,500 species of mosquitoes and around 200 of them live in the U.S. Yes, 200 different species of mosquitoes are residing in the United States.
If you live in West Virginia, you have the honor of living in the state with the fewest species, a small total of 26. On the other hand, a shout out to our Texan friends, because they have the most, rounding in at 85 different species.

Talk about Fast Maturation
Mosquitoes mature at an incredible speed. It takes as little as 5 days to go from egg to adult. Once they reach adulthood, they’ll live anywhere from 1 week to 8.

 Females Reign Supreme
Females live longer than the males. They drink blood. And they fly into a swarm of males to mate. They don’t just sound bad, they are.Because female mosquitoes dine on our blood, they are also the ones to transmit mosquito-borne illnesses. Malaria and the West Nile virus are just 2 common diseases. But, there are plenty more.

Some infections humans get from mosquito bites can land them in the hospital with brain swelling. Children, seniors and those with compromised immune systems are most at risk. As the populations remain unchecked, mosquitoes will continue to cause misery to humankind.

That’s why mosquito control products are so important.

There’s Only Two Really Effective Ways to Protect Yourself
There are repellents and there’s extermination.Repellents, such as DEET, are great at keeping mosquitoes away from you over short periods of time. Not so great if you’re sensitive to chemicals. On the other hand, they make a mosquito catcher that lures them using carbon dioxide, sucks them up, then dehydrates them. These machines run continuously to the point they catch enough of these bugs that their breeding cycle is interrupted. Once that happens, there are fewer mosquitos and fewer chances of you being bitten.

What’s that Buzzing in My Ear?
If you hear a buzzing, it’s their wings flapping. And get this: when two mosquitoes come together to mate, they synchronize their wing flapping.

It’s Not Your Sweetness, It’s Your Sweatiness
Mosquitoes don’t go after you because you’re sweet. They go after you because you are sweaty and you expel carbon dioxide. They prefer heat and carbon dioxide over sweets.

Now that you’ve learned some interesting facts about the mosquito, like how a mosquito catcher works, expand your horizons and learn more about the house fly.

Tips on controlling pests and innovative mosquito traps
Is there any greater pleasure than enjoying a warm evening outside with a cold beverage? It’s summertime, which means you want to be outside, but the bugs are becoming unbearable. Luckily for you, there are measures you can take to keep the pests under control, such as installing mosquito traps.
Mosquito Traps
Mosquitoes are one of the most annoying pests of the summer. While only female mosquitoes will pester you (males feed off of pollen), it sure can seem they are all keen on making your life miserable.
Luckily for you there are mosquito traps that work effectively by emitting a steady stream of carbon dioxide and heat to lure the biting insects, then they suck the mosquitoes into a net where they dehydrate and die.
By having these mosquito control systems, you can keep the blood suckers at bay and keep your arms and legs itch-free. In fact, your yard will be virtually free of mosquitoes all season long if you run the mosquito traps 24/7.
Spiders and Water Don't Mix
If you find the side of your house is becoming overrun with spiders, one thing you can do is keep the webs knocked down and regularly use a garden hose to wash off your house. By working diligently, you can keep the spiders at bay.
Another good idea for controlling spiders is to keep the lights near the porch or house off and, if you have windows near the area, to keep the curtains drawn. This helps keep flying insects from gathering at the window, which in turn would keep them from landing in a spider's web. If there is no food to be had, the spiders will go elsewhere. Kill two birds with one stone!
Moths will Always be a Hassle
Moths are attracted by all kinds of light: bug lights, yellow lights or energy-efficient lightbulbs. While there are no real ways of keeping moths away from the lights outside your home, you can minimize them. By keeping the lights off until you are going outside and keeping curtains drawn around the windows near your porch, you can keep the moths from accumulating while you aren't outside. That way, when you go outside and turn on the light, you won't immediately be bombarded with the bugs.
Another way to keep the moths away from your guests is to install a spotlight away from the outdoor festivities. The light can attract the moths away from your area while still providing enough light to be able to see.
Welcoming Aunts Instead of Ants
Ants aren't as annoying as mosquitoes, but they can still be a hassle. Keep your porch and patio clear of any crumbs to make sure they don’t invade. If that doesn't keep them away, various ant traps are on the market that can help keep them at bay. Be careful of using ant poisons, as they could potentially be harmful to your pets or the wildlife you want to keep nearby.
When it comes down to it, insects will always be a nuisance. But with some effort, you can keep the pests to a minimum so your guests can enjoy themselves.

While you may think that zinc is a metallic chemical element therefore holds no importance in your body think again. Zinc ranks as one of the most essential elements required by your cells. It plays an integral role in boosting your immune system and also provides help in the process of protein synthesis as well as wound healing and cell reproduction. Most important of all, zinc is an important component that is necessary in fertility as well as conception.

Zinc, In All It's Versatility
Contrary to how it may sound and look like, zinc is not found in metals. It is virtually and naturally available in different types of food, its primary sources being poultry, beans, whole grains, barks, meat and dairy products. But no matter how abundant the supply, the body can only absorb around 30% of the zinc that we consume, this is really how it works. A person's capacity for zinc absorption, however, weakens as he or she ages, people whose age are beyond 65 only absorb half as much zinc as those whose age ranges from 25 to 30.

How Much? How Many?
Normally adult males require about 11 mg. of zinc on a daily basis, in the case of females about 8 mg. of zinc is required every day. Since the body does not absorb all the zinc that is consumed in every meal, it is important to have an idea of how much or how less zinc there is in your food. If you feel that the kind of food that you consume is less than the standard, go for supplements but be careful in choosing because some may have zinc side effects, you may also opt to consume 50 mg. or less of zinc per day.

The number of zinc rich foods are widely available in daily market. Oysters, for one are very rich in zinc as well as other shellfish in the likes of crab, lobsters and shrimps. Varieties of red meat also make abundant sources of zinc; lamb and pork for example. Dark meat like poultry are better sources compared to fish, however fish in itself are still exemplary sources of zinc. If you feel like going for plant sources, you can never go wrong with pumpkin seeds, legumes, beans and barks.

However, the amount of zinc that you can absorb needs to be limited, otherwise it will result to zinc toxicity. Consuming more than 150 mg. of zinc on a daily basis for a long period of time (say, 6 to 8 weeks) can be really dangerous. Zinc toxicity keeps the body from benefiting from other types of minerals and vitamins that your body consume, thus it leaves your immune system weak and it raises your cholesterol. It may also cause copper deficiency.

Meanwhile, even with the abundance of zinc in our day-to-day food, cases of zinc deficiency still occurs. While the symptoms vary from one person to another, it is generally characterized by different kinds of skin lesions like psoriasis, eczema and acne, loss of sex drive, loss of appetite, reduced fertility, skin dryness and rashes to name a few.

By Sara Roberts*, guest author for Inpui.com, discusses the benefits of green tea, and how it can protect our eyes

green tea Studies have shown that green tea is beneficial to the heart, helps fight against some cancers, and helps with weight loss. New studies have also shown us that the main component of green tea, epigallocatechin-gallate (EGCG), can help to protect our eyes in more ways than one. One study says that the antioxidants can still be found in the eyes 20 hours after consumption. The EGCG in green tea can protect our eyes from diseases, illnesses and UV rays. Who knew that a simple tea drink could benefit our bodies in more ways than one?

How Is Green Tea Made?

Green tea originated in China thousands of years ago, and over those years, they have developed hundreds of different types of teas. Green tea is different from other teas because when they are picked, they are taken immediately to be steamed or dried. They are not left to be fermented like black tea and other teas. The way green tea is processed contributes to how it protects our eyes.

Benefits of Green Tea

Green tea protects the retina, lens and aqueous humor, protects the retina against UV damage, protects cataract formation and protects against age related macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma. New studies from the East have shown that the retina absorbs the ingredients of green tea, which helps the eyes stay healthy against illnesses and diseases.

The first benefit of green tea is that the "catechins" in green tea prevent oxidative stress, which can protect the eyes from glaucoma and other diseases. The second benefit of green tea is that the eyes absorb the EGCG from the green tea. When this happens, the retina cells increase and so does cell activity. This can protect the eyes from harmful UV rays. The third benefit of green tea is that it has the potential to fight against cataracts and blindness. A study by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences says that green tea "preserv[es] the antioxidant defense system." Green tea also fights against glaucoma and AMD. Oxidative stress is present in both of these conditions, but the EGCG in green tea protects the eyes and fights against the stress.

Through many worldwide studies, green tea's EGCG has proven to fight against stress, increase cell count and productivity and fight against eye diseases and illnesses. The benefits of green tea are numerous because of the way it is processed for consumption. Its ingredients also contribute to its benefits.

Almost all the time, bad luck and bad timing cannot be prevented. Bad breath, on the other hand, can be avoided if you are going to follow these simple ways of how to fight it. Just do these easy steps for you to get rid of bad breath.

Confident_Smile_dental_hygineIn the following steps that you are going to do, you will be needing a toothbrush, toothpaste with fluoride, dental floss, water, and your dentist. It is optional for you to have a mouthwash, sugarless candy or gum, and breath mints. If you have already prepared these, then, you are now ready to do the six steps to fight bad breath.

Step 1   Brush your teeth at least twice a day after taking your meal. Floss at least once a day after brushing your teeth. These two will help remove odor-causing germs and bacteria. It will also aid you to thoroughly get rid of those small food debris and plaque between your teeth.

Step 2   Softly brush your tongue after you are through brushing your teeth. It will make you feel to have a fresh cool breath. Many oral bacteria spend time lingering in the tongue; brushing it makes these oral bacteria be removed.

Step 3   If you are wearing dentures and retainers; soak them in a glass of mouthwash and clean them regularly. This will help you remove the germs and bacteria that may cause oral infections.

Step 4   If possible, avoid eating too much garlic, onions, and foods that are spicy. Moreover, prevent yourself from drinking coffee and smoking tobacco. These contain harmful chemicals that now only give you bad breath but also serious oral problems.

Step 5   Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. This will prevent your mouth from being dry. You may also suck on sugarless candies and gums to allow the circulation of liquid in your mouth.

Step 6   Visit your dentist for regular cleaning and check up. There will also be the chance for your dentist to detect if there are any periodontal diseases that may be the cause of bad breath. You may do this twice every one year.

Considering all these six steps for you to fight bad breath requires you to make them a habit. Good oral hygiene dictates that you should take extra good care of your teeth. Having straight and white teeth does not necessarily mean that you already possess fresh breath. So, work hard for you to fight those odor-causing bacteria.

dental health (WinCE) When your dentist informs you that you have an entire slew of dental problems that must be fixed as soon as possible, are you the type to say yes to all treatments or do you take the time to think about the real necessity of having all these treatments?

Having a second opinion when your doctor gives you a serious diagnosis is not just advised, it’s often expected. But will asking for second opinions work in a dental setting? The answer to that question is simple—if you feel that you need to, then chances are that you probably should get a second opinion. According to Dr. Richard Price, spokesperson for the American Dental Association, there is nothing wrong with asking for a second opinion.

Although there is no definite list of dental procedures that are safe to be performed without the need for a second opinion, but patients should also understand that one does not have to consult another dentist just to have a cavity fixed. Choosing to have another dentist take a look to verify a certain diagnosis should only be done when major procedures like surgery is required.

So when should one get a second opinion?

There are five scenarios which will reasonably warrant getting a second opinion. The first is when the dentist has just given a major diagnosis like oral cancer. The next reason is if the patient has already had the dental work done and yet it has not fixed the problem. Being unsure with the necessity of the treatment as well as its cost is another ground for asking another professional. Also, if you are not convinced with your dentist’s ability to treat your condition, i.e. needing braces when your dentist is not an orthodontist, as well as not having good rapport with your dentist are two other grounds for seeking a second opinion.

So who should you turn to when you want another dentist to take a look at you?

The first person to turn to should be your primary dentist given an excellent rapport with him or her. Dentists should never feel bad that their patients opt to get someone else’s opinion. Nobody wants to have a reluctant patient on one’s hands. And if the other dentist verifies the diagnosis and required treatment, then the primary patient will have a patient who is more committed to the treatment plan. Friends and family can name a good dentist too.

With healthcare on the economic and political forefront, insurance companies are tightening their belts wherever they can. This means that buying insurance may involve passing a physical exam. Sometimes, insurance companies don’t reveal the premium you will pay until after the exam. This means that if you tip the scales—whether it’s with your weight, blood pressure, or cholesterol—you may end up paying more for health insurance.

Even more irksome, if you are on a group plan, everyone in the group may end up paying more if just one person is not in the best shape. Instead of shaking in your boots when you’re asked to complete a pre-insurance physical, try some of the steps below to improve your health and ace the exam.

Quit Smoking

Nicotine can show up in a urine sample for up to two weeks after you quit, even if you only have one cigarette. And smokers pay high premiums. Stop smoking well before your physical exam, and don’t even consider taking a puff at a party. Go cold turkey—you’ll pay less for premiums, and you may start to notice the toll smoking was taking on your wallet, not to mention your lungs.

Go on a Fast

Fasting is not exactly healthy in the long run, but if you stop eating for two days before your physical, you can drastically reduce your LDL (bad cholesterol) levels. Since you probably can’t go two days without eating and stand up straight on the day of your physical, your best bet is to eat a high-fiber diet for a week before the exam. Drink a lot of water as well. Stop eating around midnight the night before the exam and your cholesterol levels will improve.

If you have a couple of weeks before the exam, go Vegan! Drink pure vegetable and fruit juices, purified water, herbal teas, and no coffee for the 1st week. Second week, keep up the juicing and clear beverages; just add spinach salads, vegetables, fruits and no dairy or meat products. Not only will your chemical levels clean up quickly, you’ll probably drop about 10-15 pounds as well.

Manage Your Blood Pressure

clip_image004If you take medication for high blood pressure, keep taking it before the exam. If you don’t know whether your blood pressure is in the healthy range, you can test it at most drugstores. If it is high, starting medication immediately will help lower it before your exam. At the exam, you will have to acknowledge that you are taking the medication, but it’s better than having “uncontrolled” high blood pressure. Again, the Vegan cleanse mentioned above can straighten out this malady pretty quickly.

Manage Your Weight

Health insurance premiums are usually lower for people who fall in a healthy weight range. If you are overweight, take steps to lose weight. Starting an exercise program (with your doctor’s approval) or cutting back on calories or portion sizes can help when it comes to purchasing health insurance.

Stay Drug Free

Alcohol can be measured in a urine sample for up to 12 hours after it was consumed. Marijuana stays in your system for up to one month, and most other drugs remain for a few days. Stop taking any drugs, including over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen before your exam.

Anti-inflammatories and analgesics can cause elevated liver function levels, which can negatively impact the results of a physical exam, even for individuals in otherwise perfect health. Even eating poppy seeds before the exam can make you fail the drug test, so be careful what you consume in the days prior to the test.

If you exercise, eat well, and are generally healthy, you shouldn’t have to worry before taking a health insurance physical. Once the day of the physical arrives, there is nothing more you can do except relax. If you’re anxious when you get to the office, your blood pressure reading might be higher than normal. Just breathe, breathe out, you’ll do fine.

EyePeople over 65 and postmenopausal women are more likely to have dry eyes.
Obviously, a humidifier in your home or workplace will help, when the air is dry.

Try to get more Vitamin A in your diet, if you suffer from dry eyes. You can eat salmon, sardines, or eggs once a day. Alternatively, take 10 000 IU of vitamin A with 400 IU of vitamin D daily. Make sure your supplement is made from fish oil. You can reduce this dose to 5000 IU of vitamin A, once symptoms have subsided.

Pregnant women should check with their doctor before taking vitamin A.

Take 2 tablespoons of flaxsees or fish oil daily, as these contain omega-3 fatty acids.

For teenagers and beauty conscious nothing can be more embarrassing and unsightly than an acne outbreak. Whether it’s contributing to the normal teenage angst or causing personal and professional difficulty for adults, acne can be a frustrating problem. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to heal acne without resorting to medication and steps you can take to prevent further outbreaks.

Acne is caused by the production of sebum in the skin just below the surface layer

This excess sebum causes pockets or pimples to develop. The key to healing acne is treating the skin and keeping it as healthy as possible. This means using mild soaps or cleansers and washing your face twice a day. It is extremely important to keep skin clean, but you want to avoid over-washing as that can actually stimulate sebum production.

You should avoid using any kind of rough brushes or sponges on your skin as that can make breakouts worse. And never pick at pimples or pop them. The more you rub at them, the more the sebum inside will spread, which will just make the outbreak worse. And picking at pimples can result in scarring as well.

One of the easiest ways to both combat and prevent acne is by drinking water

Eight glasses of water a day is generally recommended to keep skin properly hydrated. And well hydrated skin is healthy skin, since water can help flush toxins out of your system. The healthier your skin, the less likely you will be to have more outbreaks.

Often, food can be a cause of acne outbreaks

Greasy and spicy foods, chocolate, and dairy products treated with hormones can all cause acne so if you are prone to breakouts, you should avoid these foods as much as possible. There are also some foods which can help to prevent acne, including green vegetables, vegetable juice and foods rich in zinc.

Exercise and acne

Since sweating can also exacerbate acne symptoms, it is important that you avoid heavy exercise during a breakout. If you are prone to acne, you should try and exercise in moderation to avoid excess sweating. Moderate exercise will also help to improve circulation and ease the expulsion of toxins from the body which can alleviate symptoms.

The effect of stress on acne

The other thing to bear in mind is to try and keep yourself stress free as stress can be another direct cause of acne outbreaks. This is particularly true for adult acne, as the stress of everyday life can easily become overwhelming and cause our bodies to react negatively.

Try to remain calm and relax. Yoga, meditation and massage can all help to relieve the body of excess tension.

Nobody likes dealing with acne, but it can be managed and even prevented if you just make sure to treat your skin right. Remember, you only get one skin so it us up to you to take care of it. Eat right, get the proper amount of exercise and avoid stress and you can be acne free and loving the skin you’re in!

Liver has very high levels of the retinol form of vitamin A, which can be harmful to a developing baby, especially in the first trimester. The betacarotene form of vitamin A (which is plant based) is safe during pregnancy.

If you are trying to fall pregnant or are pregnant do not eat liver products.

The same applies with fish oil supplements. If the supplement is derived from the liver of the fish, such as cod liver oil, it contains the retinol form of Vitamin A and should be avoided when pregnant. If the supplement is derived from the body of the fish, it contains lots of essential fatty acids (omega-3 fatty acids) which are good for your developing baby. Check that the supplement is suitable for pregnancy.

Has the long cold winter left you with dry, flaky skin? An essential fatty acid deficiency could be to blame. These healthy fats are essential for many of the body's processes and a deficiency can lead to poor skin condition. Therefore, make sure you get enough by increasing your intake of nuts, seeds, avos, olives, olive oil, fatty fish and green leafy veggies and your skin will be glowing before you know it.

Identical twins occur when 1 egg splits causing 2 foetuses to develop in the same amniotic fluid. Fraternal twins are when 2 eggs are fertilised.
Here is some information about the chances of conceiving Fraternal twins:

Older mothers have a higher chance of conceiving twins. 17% of women over age 45 have a multiple pregnancy.

If you have had twins once you are more than 4 times as likely to have multiples again than a woman who hasn't had twins. If you have many children, your chances of conceiving twins are higher.

If you fall pregnant whilst on the pill, through missing the odd day, you are more likely to have twins. The first month after you stop taking the pill, you are also more likely to conceive twins.

Women who are undergoing fertility treatments, such as Clomid, have a higher likelihood of hyperovulating (releasing more than 1 egg). If you have in vitro fertilisation, as there are about 3 fertilised eggs inserted into your womb, you have a higher likelihood of having a multiple pregnancy. If you have had IVF, you have a 23% chance of twins.

If a woman's mother or maternal grandmother had or was fraternal twins, her likelihood of releasing more than 1 egg per menstrual cycle is increased.

Those taking Folic acid daily have a 40% higher chance of conceiving twins than those who don't - you should start taking it at least 1 month before conception if you want twins.

Eat cassava root, a type of wild yam/sweet potato found in Africa. In areas where cassava is a staple food, women have the highest rate of conceiving twins in the world. Eating this yam increases ovulation. To find cassava, try your nearest fruit and vegetable store.

Drinking milk increases your chances of having twins. It is suggested that milk stimulates the ovaries, encouraging the production of multiple eggs. Women who consume dairy are 5 times as likely to conceive twins than those who don't.

It helps if you carry on breastfeeding your baby, whilst trying to conceive twins. Although some women do not ovulate whilst breastfeeding, it causes some women to release more than 1 egg whilst ovulating.

Women with a slightly higher percentage of body fat and those who are slightly overweight are more likely to have twins. Women who are tall are also more likely to have twins.

Even though twins can be conceived up to 24 days apart, they will both develop at about the same times. Each twin has its own placenta and amniotic sac.
