life-hringnun "What's the true meaning of life? Why is there so much discrimination and oppression among our own fellow beings? Why can't we just have a tranquil world? Why God, who is omnipotent and all-powerful allows His beloved ones suffer miserably?..."

Several hundreds of profound questions creep in my mind and yet unanswered. The things we crave for we get it and still hunger for something else. There are people who amassed an unfathomable amount of wealth and still thirst for more while others possess just their basic necessities and still find happiness in everything they do. There seems to be no perfect satisfaction in all spheres of life.

Whether one is a terrorist, a pope, a politician or a layman, we are all alike in some way - born as an innocent baby not knowing what is right or wrong and thus started the journey of our lives. Like a tree planted by the riverside which is well nourished so is the life of a person whose surrounding influenced it with good character and of quality moral value. In times of trials and temptations such persons stand strong as they are on a solid rock. On the flip side of it are others whose journey of lives started from a bumpy road and they are devoid of love and care due to unavoidable circumstances or simply what is called fate. No wonder their acts have been impetuous. And the worst part of them for not realizing whether there exists such a thing called love for no one makes them felt of it. Still then we all lead our lives in the best way we can even though the paths seem rough and difficult.

The world is like a stage and each life a character where each character is unique and can't be played by anyone else. The character that we perform now is important because it will be remembered for a long time and we need to perform it well before our part comes to and end. In this drama of life we sometimes tend to lost interest in its value feeling we ain’t just anybody and not realizing the impacts it has on other's lives.

Each day we find newspapers report of hundreds of deaths in various places around the world and we do not know who care about it as they happened to be just some of the many death cases reported each day. But for some it may be the end of their beloved ones, their close relatives whose departure will leave a never healing wound in their minds.

Life which is just a handful of short stories pretends to be a novel and so we take it for granted and never give a thought of the day when the end of it is going to come upon us. We find it hard to think that this is going to be the last meeting with the person with whom we're meeting right now even though they happened it very frequently. We find it difficult to inquire about the well-being of our family members, friends and our beloved ones and still find it harder to remind them of our love and care for them not knowing that we may never get another opportunity to do so. The good things that we can do lets not give it up to procrastination and lost the opportunity to do so. As the leaves of autumn wither and fall so are the fair summer days of our life going to be barren and then vanished soon.

Its time we change the direction of how we form our opinions regarding various circumstances that we faced in our daily lives becoming more optimistic rather than be a pessimist. Let’s be thankful to whatever things that befalls upon us. Let’s be thankful when the government levied us taxes which means we are not out of jobs. Let’s be thankful when we hear someone called us a no one which means we are not deaf. Let’s be thankful when we have to do all the household chores which means we have a house for home thinking of all the millions of homeless people in the world. Life is too short to waste it for hating or envying others, rather lets try to be the reason for someone's happiness than be a part of someone's sadness.

Let's not miss the opportunity to do good things whatever that come in the ways of our lives. And TODAY is the time to do those good deeds. If you still have a father and a mother to take care of you tell them today how grateful you are to them. Give thanks to them for bringing you up this far and for being so patient and so faithful to you. Tell your friends or your loved ones how much you miss them and how you wish to be with them for a time is coming and it's on its way with each tickling minute when you'll have no more opportunity to do all these good deeds however great you may want it.

Let’s celebrate each day and find satisfaction in everything around us. Let’s give thanks to the Creator for giving us a life that's worth celebrating each day.

(Dedicated to my grandfather (L) Pastor Thanglien (89) son of (L) Pastor Thangngur, whose journey came to an end on the 5th of September, 2009).

  3. mihriem hi Pathien nei lova tha an tam taluo, ana chu a poimaw tak chu Isu hmangaina leia thaw a ni? ti hi a nih. Every one likes to be good, righteous but no one really likes to walk with Jesus. Oh! what a wonderful message it would be if the author wrote from the context of Christianity! thankful for not deaf, not for homeless but never mentioned the source i.e who gave? Kristien ei ni chun it should convey the message and love of Jesus. We do not praise vanity, like atheist! our christian message should always convey the source, Jesus. That's why one need to be careful with sound doctrine and theology!ny way i am not a type of person who simply comment! i read and i comment and i just wanted to reflect how important it is to shape our mind and thought in christian ways. 5. hei Lalram-pa, you are wrong! 100% absolutely wrong!!you know what? your doctrine shape your belief, and your belief is what you practice. If your doctrine is wrong your belief would be wrong and if your belief is wrong your practice will be wrong! and this is what happen to the Hmar! we do not have strong teaching about theology, doctrine and therefore people began to move away from God by not walking with Jesus.
