Bangalore: The Hmar community ‘Freshers’ Meet’ 2010 organised by the Hmar Students’ Association was held successfully on Saturday last here in Bangalore. (SEE PHOTOS HERE)
However, rain plays spoilsport and the programme which was to begin at 2.00 pm could begin only by 4.00 pm. Despite the bad weather, around 130 people attended the annual event, according to organizing officials.
This year there are around 30 new comers; 20 present and 10 absentees.
Election was also held to elect new HSA office bearers for the year 2010-11.
Several entertainment items were presented by artistes during the event. Among them was Hmar rapper Pu Puia Sakum who presented his newly composed song.
Other artistes include: Ruoltinkung, Rose Sakum, Mercy Paruolte, Edward Ralte, etc.
The programme concluded at around 8.00 pm with a feast of ‘bawngsa chartang’ and ‘arsa hmepawk’.
