The most important post-harvest festivals of the Hmar community, Sikpui Ruoi, will be celebrated in Guwahati and Bangalore on December 4.
In Delhi it will be held on December 3.
The festival at Guwahati will be graced by NEREFS couple Pu Lalrawngbawl and Pi Lalremsiem besides Pu David Neitham and Pu L.B Sinate.
The festival will also be celebrated in several villages in Manipur and Mizoram on December 4 as this year’s Sikpui Ruoi falls on Sunday.
Sikpuiruoi or Sikpui Kut is a traditional winter festival of the Hmar indigenous tribals of Northeast India. It is celebrated usually in the month of November-December every year to thank God and Mother nature for the blessings and for the bountiful harvest bestowed during the year.
